1919
Mediums: oil, canvas.
Location: The State Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow (Russia).
About the painting:
One of the most famous “crystal” works of Matyushkin (he considered this definition to be more precise than “cubist style”) was painted in cold blue and white colors. This is associated with a sparkling blue diamond facet. The canvas is filled with geometric transparent and semi-transparent correct elements growing from each other. Their gradual diagonal upward movement is so convincing that it seems that the crystals continue to master the space outside the canvas.
