Yermilov’s constructivism is well represented by his graphic works – he actively designed books, mostly book covers. They are monumental, like posters, because the author applied the principles of Cubofuturism, Constructivism and Suprematism to book and magazine illustrations, thereby bringing this applied art closer to avant-garde. The handwritten “A” resembles a beautiful snake, despite the fact that the line in the lower circuit seems to displace rhythmic horizons into the material world. The traditional and sacred colour triades are also applied – white, black and red. The black circle slides to the edge and maintains its place thanks to the magnetism of the “first letter of the alphabet”.
