description

Mediums: oil, canvas.
Location: The National Museum of Art, Bucharest (Romania).

People depicted in a surreal plot are painted in a style similar to cubism. The large golden rings that pass through the aggressive rocky mountain and surround it contrast with the dark sky covered with layered clouds. Characters who have left their everyday activities (different work clothes are depicted) are in different relations with rings: they walk, hang or sit on them. The title, apparently, refers to the person in the foreground, standing with his back to the viewer and not participating in the general action. All the subjects are possible participants in the occult ceremony, or the personal myth of the author, or his dream.
