Fantastic landscape became the main genre of the artist from 1940. In this painting, the artist depicted a surreal sea, the crests of the waves of which are simultaneously mountains inhabited by people and strange plants with cat faces. The smooth rhythm of these waves, repeating stairs, flags and architectural elements is mesmerizing and capturing you in the special world of the artist’s imagination. The canvas is created in such a way as to use visual symbols to influence the viewer’s subconscious, and make him look at the image as if from the inside of this mystical landscape.
