Children of the landscape

author

Gordon Onslow Ford

description

Mediums: oil, canvas.
Location: Collection of Lucid Art Foundation (California, the USA).

About the painting:

This work was among the first, where Onslow Ford used a new painting technique – working with casein paints. This material, despite the fact that it is fast drying, opened up new possibilities for the artist, allowing him to more accurately express the vision of his inner world. The picture, in which you can see the abstract human figures and the outlines of the mountains in the background, is made with the help of long parallel colorful stripes. This technique resembles the tapestry or the art of the ancient Indians, which the artist studied while living in Mexico.
