1962
Mediums: wood, tempera, oil
Location: The Museum of Ernst Fuchs, Vienna (Austria).
The artist created this painting after returning from Israel to Vienna. The power of the color and shape and the context of his paintings characterized Fuchs’ works as independent of Surrealism and Modern. His paintings have a shrewd unusually effective power. The very untraditional image of the cherub is made in a decorative manner. It can be viewed as a profile, but the composition mostly resembles a complex construction similar to a marvelous tower, inhabited with fantastic creatures.
