Tullio Crali

description

Mediums: oil, рlywood.
Location: private collection.

One of the few portraits of Tullio Crali depicts Elica, the daughter of artist Giacomo Balla. The master painted the young woman in his characteristic “airy manner”, where smooth curving lines create a special rhythm and dynamics. Elica’s face, surrounded by a soft bluish glow, seems to float out of the air, harmoniously merging with the surrounding space. Her hair flutters from the breeze, and her face expresses calmness and tranquility. It is not known for certain what kind of relationship had the artist and his model, but the portrait is full of admiration and tenderness, inspiring romantic feelings.
