description

Mediums: oil, cardboard, canvas.
Location: The State Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow.

This is a self-portrait of the artist. The picture is made in bright, cheerful colors. According to Zinaida, she “depicted herself in the mirror and was amused to depict every little thing on the toilet.” The artist and critic Alexander Benois spoke about this work as follows: “here is complete immediacy and simplicity: true artistic temperament, something sonorous, young, laughing, sunny and clear, something absolutely artistic.”
