Accordionist

author

Angel Planells Cruanas

description

Mediums: oil, canvas.
Location: The Cadaqués Art Museum (Girona) (Spain).

The distinguishing feature of the painting is the technique used in it – it resembles a cubist painting by its lines and some shifts in the proportions. Moreover, the background consists of colourful irregular geometric figures covering each other. The shapes of characters are depicted very conditionally – the accordionist himself, his pensive listener, and the musical instrument, which he plays. However, the painting also has some features of famous pop art. Even in this interior-story painting, the author used a piece of the sea that can be seen behind the violet curtain of the window.
