Abstract Multicoloured Design

author

Helen Beatrice Saunders

description

Mediums: сardboard, watercolour.
Location: The Tate Modern Gallery (the UK).

According to the sister of the artist, this composition, like «Monochrome Abstract Design”, was created on the same days when Helen Saunders painted the walls of the restaurant de la Tour Eiffel together with W. Lewis. Stylistically, these works are closely related to the works of other Vorticist authors, which were posted in the first issue of “BLAST” magazine. However, it was the painting by Saunders that is distinguished by its rich colour schemes and the sharpness of the composition. The artist does not lose the confidence of lines and her internal image logic, in which figurativeness can be seen.
