description

Mediums: concrete.
Location: the Chinati Foundation, Marfa Texas (the USA).

In the 1980s, Donald Judd began to create large-scale structures designed for installation in the open. Fifteen concrete blocks are lined up in the middle of the Texas prairie in perfect sequence. They are large enough so that a person can go inside and are a great example of an organic combination of a work of art with the environment. For the composition, Judd used concrete blocks from an abandoned military base, which he bought and used as a studio for work and his house.
