Briefly about the painting:
Explaining his artistic creed, the artist said that he wanted to paint in such a way as if he “took pictures of his dreams”. In this almost monochrome painting, we can feel the artist’s interest in the romantic pathos of the nineteenth century, combined with the symbolism of the beginning and the surrealism of the mid-20th century. Huge figures with skulls instead of faces forming an alley can be interpreted differently; in the foreground, one of them clasped her hands in prayer, and the tiny character below holds a brightly burning torch in her raised hand.
