The Jug

author

Ivan Vasilievich Kliun

description

Mediums: oil, canvas.
Location: the Rostov-Yaroslavl Museum-Reserve (Russia).

Briefly about the painting:

When Kliun started painting in the technique of cubism, the main “characters” of his paintings became household appliances and dishes in the sensual interior. Experts note a significant difference between his works and Malewicz’s works created in the same style. Kazimierz saw in him the ability to create “alogism”, but Ivan found the logic. Therefore, the objects in his paintings, although dismembered into details, are quite recognizable, as, for example, “The Jug”. The preparatory drawing for this work is in the George Costakis Athens collection.
