This variant of the artist’s mature Cubism is more flat, the work has more large forms and bold strokes. The jug, the shape of which is refracted through the glass in front, is the colour and compositional dominant of the work. Blue colour is not supported anywhere else, and the geometric elements surrounding it are abstract. A tapering small bright green stripe in the middle plane and the direction of large distinct strokes bring a certain perspective into the painting – these strokes are horizontal in the foreground, and then form diagonals.
