Dance

description

Mediums: oil, plywood.
Location: the State Museum of Arts of Uzbekistan (Tashkent).

The artist created this painting in the same year when he painted his famous “Pomegranate Tea House”; he made it in a Cubist manner using elements of Futurism, from which he then gradually departed. The flying clothes of a dancing couple are made up of geometric shapes. An accent spot is the bright red outfit of the woman. In spite of the bravura of the topic, the faces of Uzbek men are rather sad and thoughtful – they do not look at the dancers and are lost in their thoughts.
