description

The Clifford Still Museum, Detroit (the USA).

Canvas, oil.

One of the largest, famous and expensive works of the artist; its cost is estimated by experts at around 30 million dollars. Abstract shapes with torn edges of dark brown and red colours freely floating on a light background are rhythmically repeated and create the effect of infinity. They seem to spread far beyond the already huge canvas and are imprinted in the memory of a person looking at the work for a long time. The picture is noteworthy because one of the visitors to the Clifford Still Museum in Denver spoiled it in 2012; fortunately, the work was completely restored by removing all traces of vandalism.
