Albert Marie Lebourg

description

A French landscape painter, draftsman, consistent adherent of Impressionism and Post-impressionism. Being the representative of the Rouen school of painting, Albert-Charles Lebourg wrote landscapes of his native places, as well as the suburbs of Paris. From the genres of landscape themes, he preferred marinas. Along with the marinas Lebourg left a whole legacy of winter landscapes. He skillfully conveyed the stillness frozen in the fog or under the snow. The bright and ”freely created” landscapes are the result of numerous trips and acquaintance with the works of other masters. Smears of his brush, not obeying any manner, created something living – something that is actively “breathing”, and then peacefully “sighing”. The artist worked not only with oil, but also with watercolors.

In 1903, Lebourg was awarded the title of Chevalier of the Order of the Legion of Honor.

The master’s paintings are in the world’s leading museums.

Key ideas:

– The famous French master of the exquisite landscape, Albert-Charles Lebourg liked to emphasize that “values prevail over tones” in his canvases.

– The style of the artist is close to the impressionistic and akin post-impressionistic styles, as he developed his own manner of transmitting space and light. Не achieved the effect of the famous “glowing scenery” using pearly glare.

– One of Lebourg’s key ideas is to convey nuances, sometimes barely perceptible, depicting a familiar, often the same place at different times of the year, and sometimes at different times of the day. Series of paintings depicting the Seine or a small town in the province of Pont du Chateau were created in such a way.
