Serge Brignoni always emphasized that he created many of his works being inspired by archaic art. He added, characterizing his artistic credo, that it can be summarized in two words: balance and harmony. At first glance, the half-meter figurine recalls the images of the Paleolithic “Venus”. The volumetric forms testifying to the strength and procreation ability are their main features. Like in his other later works, the sculptor avoids the grinding process and any external surface processing. However, this work, called by the author an “abstract torso”, was made in a manner close to realistic, albeit primitive. The last time the sculpture was put up for auction in 2012.
