1952 - 1953
Mediums: plexiglass and nylon wire, aluminium base.
Location: The Museum of Modern Art of New York (United States).
The work became the main subject of an article by A. Chanin published in the magazine “Art News”. The author of the work said in an interview that the design was preceded by a series of pencil sketches (they are now in the archives of the Tate Gallery). Such preparation is necessary for visualization of the structure from all sides. Then Gabo completed several small sketch models. To make this linear structure 71 cm high, the artist needed, according to him, intuition and a sense of balance. The work has several versions; one of them is presented in the collection of the G. Pompidou Center in Paris. The author created dozens of various mini-sculptures from plastic and nylon threads.
