One of the “Madonnas” of the sculptor related to the early cubo-futuristic period is made in the dynamics of a reversal. Although in those years Arkhipenko already practised the use of the “daring yawning void effect” creating some parts of the figures, in this sculpture he found another solution to focus on the woman’s face. It is somehow hidden; this gives mystery to the whole slim figure. In subsequent years, he often used the contrast of concave and convex shapes in his compositions.
