Guillaume Apollinaire was one of the first to recognize and appreciate the extraordinary talent of the artist. De Chirico depicted his friend in the form of an antique bust in sunglasses, placing several mysterious objects near him. The most mystical part is the shadow of the poet, on whose head a white circle looking like a target is drawn. This work is considered truly prophetic, since it was in this area that Apollinaire received a bullet wound during the war, from which he died in 1918.
