Young Routy in Céleyran

Routry was almost the same age as Lautrec. He was employed as a farm worker on the Céleyran estate. This introverted, rather mistrustful looking young man was Lautrec’s favored model at the time. The artist portrayed him in three paintings and seven sketches.
