From the late 1950s, Andriienko returned to abstract pictorial constructions and figurative cubist constructions, from which his avant-garde career started in 1915-17. Critic Marcel Freen noted that the master followed the path of logical development, preserving the harmony of compositions, accuracy of forms and refined sensuality. He managed to avoid various shortcomings of different schools and movements. He also remained faithful to his restrained palette. The plot of this work is embodied by the artist twice – in the painting of 1962, the figures of young people are larger and more schematic.
