Briefly about the painting:
The work clearly reflects the favorite dream motif of Surrealists, in this case a nightmare. Caught on the rocky high bank of the river at night, the naked girl watches the approach of strange creatures with fear, reflected in her pose and gaze. Some of them are recognizable, especially a snail, but most are fantastic, anthropomorphic. The hope of salvation can be a white bird, but its flight is clearly directed to the other side of the numbed figure.
