Briefly about the painting:

As in the whole series of works of this presupremistic period, Pougny used themes and methods of Cubofuturism. The tram movement attracted Malewicz, Bogomazov and other avant-gardists, and Pougny created such a painting twice – one of them is subjectless (contains letters), while the other one represents the type of transport itself originally built from a part of the word “tram”, while the remaining letters of the word support the image below the track. The extremely bright palette gives the painting some festivity, and the tram itself makes it look like an elegant toy.
