1933
Mediums: oil, canvas.
Location: The Gala Salvador Dali Foundation Museum, Figueres (Spain).
This painting is distinguished by its colour gamma – light colours are used here only for the figure of the “mad” lady. The main character, a half-marble woman, is on the night beach. The painting of the early period is overpopulated – apart from seven present or marked characters, it has many objects, each of which has a symbolic meaning. Apart from that, the face of the model, although it is depicted realistically, is covered, like coloured tattoos, with many signs and lines.
