Created during World War I, «The Horse Tamer» reflects the turmoil in Europe in a literal and metaphorical way. The artist generalizes and combines the painting styles of expressionism, cubism and futurism through a theme traditional for these art movements and through vivid coloгr solutions. If it were not for the “loud” name, the viewer could hardly find on the canvas, likened to the mosaic, the concentrated face of the rider and no less emotional horse, sharply turning its head. In the lower part of the painting, one can assume an urban landscape – fragments of houses, illuminated boulevards and soaring fireworks.
