About the painting:
Onslow Ford occasionally depicted animals, especially birds that he considered to be harbingers of the future according to ancient beliefs. This painting shows the world from a bird’s-eye view, where a majestic falcon, soaring in the sky, is its complete master. This painting was created when its author moved from the USA to Mexico and reflects his impressions of the trip, which was quite adventurous and was a “journey into the unknown”. The work also contains archetypical images in the form of female and male figures divided by a symbolical line, characteristic of the artist.
