This work refers to the abstract period of the artist’s work. The plot is not connected with any real subject and is a non-figurative composition, where colour and form play a significant role. Balla’s paintings of the post-war period have much less swiftness and dynamism, his lines acquired plasticity, and colours became more saturated and pure. The artist still sought to depict movement; however, then it was not the frantic speed of a racing car, but a calm and thoughtful contemplation of the world.
