Klee’s interest in the theme of music is felt in many works of the artist. It is known that his parents were musicians and wanted their son to become a cellist. Maybe, that is why the appearance of the Archangel in the interpretation of Paul Klee resembles a cello or a violin, decomposed into separate parts. The artist did not become a composer, because he believed that all brilliant works had already been created by Mozart and Bach. He expressed his love for music with the help of canvases, paints and brushes. It is no wonder that art critics called him “the master who writes symphonies in colors.”
