Briefly about the painting:
Many paintings of the artist immerse the viewer in a philosophical mood: comprehension of the mystery, prayer, understanding of the world. The appeal to the artist’s own spiritual world in this work is transmitted through the tiny light of a candle that seems to be growing from a crystal-bluish rose. The master has a number of canvases with a similar plot, where an elongated stylized face resembles the appearance of the Madonna. The result of the technical innovation of the artist is partially similar to the method of “growing” the plot by Pavel Filonov with his analytical art theory. However, Ivan Marchuk did not use the method of creating an object from a set point.
