Extremely laconic in the set of colors, the Suprematist composition, in which the author used his characteristic leitmotif, is a cruciform geometric construction. The broad white lines-strips of a cross on a locally-black background can be described as strict and rational minimalistic. The painting of I. Chashnyk as a whole is one of the most noticeable phenomena in the history of the activity of the Vitebsk UNOVIS, which is uniquely monumental in its simplicity and anticipates the search for the approaching minimalism.
