Vuchetich sculpted not just a portrait, but a biography of the Uzbek cotton grower. The hard life left deep wrinkles on the face scorched by the sun. However, this is a kind face, inspired by the knowledge of his “right” truth and unconditional dignity. From under the thick eyebrows, the eyes of the 79-year-old hero of labour look energetically, young and wisely. The semi-figured composition is designed to reveal the nature of the worker through the details more convincingly – the author depicts national clothes, hands holding a cotton branch to his chest. This work, together with a marble portrait of Colonel-General T. Khryukin, was awarded the State Prize of the second degree in 1949.
