One of the best portraits by the artist, made with love and reverence. Tsybasov painted the picture of his mother in a peculiarly realistic and scrupulous manner, carefully depicting every wrinkle, every hair, and even a pattern on her clothes. The portrait did not lose its emotional attractiveness. It, on the contrary, is alive, real, as if demonstrating real everyday beauty instead of far-fetched poses and magnificent surroundings. The stunning outward resemblance of the mother and her son, which is noticeable at first sight, demonstrates their spiritual closeness and mutual respect.
