The theme of this work is far from accidental. The artist also was a poet, wrote two novels, closely communicated with the Leningrad OBERIUS (members of the Association of Real Art), especially with D. Harms. The picture is built as a kind of collage of faces and elements of urban and rural architecture. The social component of the plan is very ambiguous, especially since in the following years this great watercolour was followed by a number of works that made up the cycle – “Warriors”, “Actors”, “Dressmakers”, “Librarians”, etc.
