Briefly about the painting:
This work turned out to be one of the most discussed paintings that were sent to the exhibition in 1937. It is a clear protest against the approaching world war, which is illustrated as a grotesque reality. Scorched and cracked earth with thin pale plants; mutilated people are trying to save themselves, climbing on each other and shedding fountains of tears. On this whole pyramid, even more terrible against the background of the serene blue sky, there is the face of the perpetrator of human suffering.
