This work is the most expensive, not only among the works of Rothko, but among all works of post-war art. An unknown collector paid for it nearly 87 million American dollars in 2012. So, why is this work so expensive, when all that a viewer can see in the canvases is just a few colorful spots that are not much in harmony with each other. Eyewitnesses say that in order to evaluate the work of the artist, you must see it in real, and no picture can convey the magical effect of the color and scale of this work. It is said that “Orange, red, yellow” seems to be dragging a person into another space; standing in front of the picture, the viewer simply does not understand what kind of world he is placed in.
