Strange faces of creatures resembling aliens with long necks look impassively from the canvas. They look down as if they have surrounded a spectator lying on the ground; this gives the picture an unrealistic and slightly frightening atmosphere. Behind the surrealistic figures, one can see the outline of the cemetery, and it becomes obvious to the viewer that these creatures came from there. The title of the work also hints at the other world, since Oberon is the king of elves and fairies, the hero of the French epic “Guon of Bordeaux” and the comedy of William Shakespeare “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”.
