According to experts, this surreal landscape is one of the most important works of Styrsky. “This key picture of the interwar fine art can be successfully included in any public collection or exhibition,” this was said about the painting in the auction catalogue. The vertical composition often used by the author is emphasized by the presence of several fragments resembling stairs, a flag fluttering on one of the roofs, round elements similar to large but light balloons. White and blue clouds that do not have a clear outline, indicated in the name, are scattered throughout the canvas. The painting was successfully exhibited many times – at the joint exhibition with Toyen in Paris in 1926, at a show organized by “Manes” in 1932; it entered the artist’s first post-war memorial vernissage.
