description

Mediums: oil, canvas.
Location: The State Russian Museum, St. Petersburg (Russia).

Briefly about the painting:

The cubofuturistic still-life depicts a fragmented musical apparatus that the viewer can see (more precisely, mentally assemble from parts) thanks to its title. Circles of plates depicted in a way that creates an illusion of their rotation are woven into flowing geometric forms. By all the rules of Cubism, the background is created; it is the continuance of the plot in its color solutions and plastic forms. The general, mostly light gamma becomes white in the upper left corner of the composition, where the music “flies” out of the gramophone tube.
