description

Mediums: sandblasted glass, paint.
Location: Josef & Anni Albers Foundation (Bethany, Connecticut, the USA).

The artist created this painting when he got a position of teacher of the art glass department at the Bauhaus. For his works of that time, he used the sand processing technique, which is also called sandblasting, and which allows you to apply the image to glass due to a partial loss of transparency of particular areas. The theme of this painting was dictated by industrial motives that were popular at that time, admiration for new technologies, factories, plants and new mechanisms. Strict geometric constructions and linear construction anticipate the author’s further transition to complete abstraction.
