Mediums: oil, canvas.
Location: the Pereslavl Museum-Reserve (Russia).
The frontline storyline is composed of two main parts. On the left is a standing figure of a woman whose head is turned outward; on the right are two figures near each other. A man sitting with a sad look on a chair and a blonde with a determined expression on her face, who is sitting at his feet on the floor, are clearly opposing a single lady. There can be several ways to understand the plot, including a love triangle. This impression is reinforced by a decisive gesture (outstretched index finger) of a seated woman. People are separated by carefully depicted and brightened architectural forms. The author made the later copy simpler, but did not change the meaning of the plot.
