The work was presented at the Venice Biennale and won the Golden Lion prize at the competition. For four days, Marina Abramovic washed a mountain of bloody cow bones, which symbolized the victims of the war in Yugoslavia. During the show, the artist sang Serbian folk songs and told visitors her memories of Belgrade, where she was born and spent her childhood and youth. It was a truly amazing performance and had a profound psychological impact on people who came there.
