1976
Private collection.
Acrylic on canvas.
The work has a non-standard shape in the form of a heptagon. The surface of the canvas is crossed by several tapering stripes that have a common connection point far beyond the borders of the picture. Without the common characteristics of volume and perspective, using only colours and shapes, the artist achieves impressive dynamics, the effect of movement and weight. Unlike the “chevrons” that Noland created in the 1960s, the picture does not have an empty neutral background, and the artist alternates bright yellow and green stripes with areas covered with gray paint.
