Briefly about the painting:
A two-part vertically oriented work is a story about an army of terracotta warriors discovered in one of the necropolises near Xi’an, the ancient Chinese capital. The artist realistically depicted the rows of soldiers and a warrior with a horse, which are located in a hangar specially built in the 1970s – its windows and arched ceiling are recognizable. A decorative foamy wave hangs over the structure, and the sea lit by the low sun extends even higher. With photographic accuracy, the depicted pheasant is assigned the role of a symbol. This bird was considered exotic in China for a long time, and its bright and brilliant plumage influenced the European idea of a Phoenix bird that could be reborn.
