This is a picture of Camilla, Monet’s first wife, and their son Jean. In the picture, the family is walking near Argentea, where they lived from 1871 to 1878. The composition is rather static, but the dynamics of the picture is given by the wind. The slight inclination of the lady’s head creates the impression that she has suddenly turned toward the viewer because something attracted her attention.
