This is the most expensive work of the artist – it was sold at an auction in 2013 for 58.4 million dollars. The dog is related to the “Celebration” series, which also includes sculptures of Easter hares, flowers, swans and other images. All of them are made in the form of figures from balloons that refer to joyful children’s entertainment and festivities. The shiny surface of the sculptures reflects everything around and does not allow the viewer to determine the form of the work; this is what makes the sculptures by Jeff Koons fantastic.
