This composition is the only «survived» oil painting by Jessica Dismort created during the period of vorticism. American collector J. Quinn bought most of the canvases, and their fate is unknown. Constructing the painting, the author used unique tonally modelled solid forms that fall in space. This was not quite typical of the “whirling” works of other adherents of this style. Several geometric figures resembling architectural components are arranged in such a way that a dark yellow prism with a curved side provides vertical focus and divides the composition into two parts. The interaction of darker and lighter pastel colours creates the illusion of depth and movement.
