Sunny day, not the slightest whiff of the breeze and people resting on the river bank. The artist carefully thought through the composition before creating this picture, worked on it for a year. Here he used the dot method of applying paints to the canvas.
It is known that this work was rejected by the jury of the Paris Salon, after which the artist left the Salon.
