“House over the waterfall”

author

Frank Lloyd Wright

description

The formation in this building is due to the landscape – the location in a mountainous rocky area above the waterfall. The house is built in the form of terraces, located at different levels on reinforced concrete slabs, around a supporting vertical core of plank stone. The author uses reinforced concrete structures (protruding and falling). The walls are partly stone with a significant glazing area, which organically connects the building with the natural environment. The proportions of the human body are taken into account.

The interior is open, united and not divided by partitions. The ceilings are low enough to emphasize the horizontal direction of the structure.
